prismatic technology allows optimal sunlight to enter at odd angles

dimming control seals light for light deprivation

we bring the sun indoors

Sun tubes bring the sun indoors for the majority of the day. LED lights supplement the shoulder periods - both daily and seasonally. Our preferred suntube, is a highly engineered piece of equipment that features prismatic technology, allowing for optimal sun into the building envelope at odd sun angles (vs. greenhouses). Custom software is deployed to ensure that exact DLI (daylight integral) is achieved. The software interacts with sun tubes and LEDs, compensating with LEDs when sunlight is sub-optimal.
HyPAR technology solves two major cultivation issues:
  1. Electricity Efficiency - the system is 60-85% more efficient.. less lighting, less HVAC, less de-humidification
  2. Heat Load - significant reduction in heat produced by lights and humidity produced by plant transpiration when lamps are shut off (plants want to slowly go to sleep with the sun vs being forced to sleep, resulting in rapidly shedding all of their water, hence a humid environment
Part of our expertise lies in our ability to design facilities. Improper design will result in an inefficient canopy and create costly mistakes that we have spent years perfecting.

Our process involves design, Construction management, Grower liason handover and five years of data collection / optimization

Comparison of hypar technology to other grow methodologies

Vs. vertical… HyPAR:

  • has much lower CapEx

  • has much lower OpEx

  • has lower chance of crop failure

  • uses much less electricity

  • much smaller carbon footprint

  • has a smaller heat load to cool / dehumidify

  • Is easier to control / technically less complex

  • grows a full spectrum plant

Vs. Indoor… HyPAR:

  • has much lower OpEX

  • lower chance of crop failure

  • less electricity

  • less heat load

  • smaller carbon footprint

  • less OpEx

  • grows a full spectrum plant

Vs. Greenhouse… HyPAR:

  • receives more sun, earlier and later in the day

  • has much lower crop loss risk

  • higher degree of control

  • lower electricity usage

  • lower carbon footprint

  • lower shipping to market costs

Vs. Outdoor… HyPAR:

  • can be operated anywhere

  • is not native soil dependant

  • recycles 100% of water

  • significantly less chance of crop loss

  • significantly more control over environment

  • Lower shipping to market costs

HyPAR technology has a lower opex and yields at the same rate, if not better, than single plane indoor, has a significantly lower capex than tiered growing (allowing for capital preservation) and reduces crop loss risk compared to all methods
